The African Council for Accreditation and Accountability (AfCAA) hosts seminars quarterly as part of the Awareness series for members and non-members. On the 29th of June, AfCAA hosted a day-long seminar on the Standard 4 Learning and Innovation on The Mental Digital Shift with the lead speaker being Richard Njau, founder at 4UP Digital.

The seminar was well attended by participants from member organizations based in Nairobi and other organizations which are in the accreditation pipeline. The seminar aimed at meeting the needs of persons charged with the responsibility of knowledge management in Churches, Christian NGOs and Christian-owned businesses whose roles include reaching their intended audience using the right channels and content.

AfCAA is a Pan-African organization that was registered in Kenya in January 2015. We aim to accredit Churches, Christian Non-Profits and Christian-owned businesses on the continent against our Seven Biblical standards of stewardship and accountability. Overall, AfCAA seeks to see a positive impact in accountability by the Christian community in these organizations resulting in glory to God by both those who know Him and those who do not know Him. This is guided by the AfCAA verse: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”. Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

During the lunch break, two participants had a few kind words to say about the seminar. Have a listen to them here:

AfCAA also intends to host webinars in the next coming weeks for our partners across Africa on building capacity on the AfCAA standards and also to elaborate on the accreditation process for organizations that are interested in being accredited.
