The Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) congratulates His Excellency, Dr William Samoei Ruto on his election and confirmation as the 5th President of Kenya. We also salute The Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga for respecting the Supreme Court ruling.

Winning an election is not an easy task. It takes effort, dedication, sacrifice, and a lot of prayers. Congratulations, Mr President.  It is one thing to stand and win an election, and another thing to step in the presidency office.

In the latter, one represents all, and no longer caring for one and not the other. Like the High Priest of Old, whose garment was inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, reminding him of his representative position of the whole nation, before the Almighty God, (Exodus 28:12). It is for this that AEA urges all Christians to unite in prayer and to support the next President of the Republic of Kenya for a more prosperous, stable and peaceful country. God has raised a leader for Kenya for such a time, to serve all people of Kenya, a task that needs support and prayer.

As a certified observer, the AEA was honoured to participate in this year’s election. Among other things, we observed the electoral officials’ high level of preparation, dedication, and commitment. Indeed, Kenya’s democracy can only grow. We pledge our total support and continued prayer to the new administration as we have always done. God bless Kenya.
