The Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) has announced the formal expansion of its crisis management network following a high-level forum held in Nairobi. The initiative, titled \u201cThe Sub-Saharan Africa Church Response to Crisis: Capacity Building,\u201d marks a shift from reactive emergency aid toward a proactive, system-based approach to regional stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum addressed the urgent need for a unified ecclesiastical front in the face of escalating humanitarian and social challenges across East and Southern Africa. Facilitated by a coalition of technical experts, including Adriaan Adams of Focus Team Leadership Training (FTLT) and Nathan Odede of Barnabas Aid, the sessions provided national leaders with the structural frameworks necessary for long-term peacebuilding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on the mission’s scope, Dr. Master O. Matlhaope, Secretary General of the AEA, noted that the Church\u2019s role must extend beyond immediate relief. “Our objective is the transformation of the underlying systems and relationships that allow crises to take root,” Dr. Matlhaope stated. “We are moving beyond management toward true community restoration.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary outcome of the forum is the establishment of a specialized network of Regional Facilitators. These officers are tasked with overseeing local implementation and ensuring that the collaboration established in Nairobi translates into a synchronized, efficient response to future regional developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
