The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) has begun a new chapter in its leadership journey following the unanimous election of Bishop Dr. Calisto Odede as Chairman at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, held on 19th June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He succeeds Bishop Philip Kitoto, whose tenure is remembered for faithful leadership, a commitment to biblical unity, and the steady strengthening of the evangelical voice across Kenya. His service is widely recognised for fostering cohesion within the Alliance and deepening collaborative engagement across the broader evangelical movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AGM also confirmed the re-election of Bishop Langat as Vice Chairman and the election of Rev. Lydia Besseling Wanjiah as Honorary Treasurer, succeeding Rev. Ambrose Nyangao. The Alliance expressed heartfelt appreciation to both Bishop Kitoto and Rev. Nyangao for their dedicated service, sacrificial leadership, and the lasting contribution they have made to the growth and strengthening of EAK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bishop Dr. Odede comes to this role with a ministry life shaped by decades of evangelical conviction, biblical preaching, and global missional engagement. He serves as Presiding Bishop of Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) and as Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University, and has served in key leadership capacities within FOCUS Kenya, the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, and Nairobi Baptist Church. He has also spoken at major international gatherings including Lausanne III, Keswick Convention, Urbana, and Mission Korea, where his ministry has contributed to shaping evangelical thought and mission globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His academic formation spans different continents; a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kenyatta University in Kenya, a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity International University in the United States, a Master’s degree in Missiological Studies from Bethany International University in Singapore, and a PhD in Theology from Stellenbosch University in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alliance receives his leadership at a moment that calls for clarity of conviction, humility of service, and a firm anchoring in the authority of Scripture, the lordship of Jesus Christ, and the urgency of the Great Commission. EAK reaffirms its commitment to pray for and support Bishop Dr. Odede, Bishop Langat, Rev. Lydia Besseling Wanjiah, General Secretary Rev. Kepha Nyandega, and the wider leadership team as they serve together in unity under God’s guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
