The Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) will launch its Health Commission on 23rd September 2026 at the ARRC Auditorium, AEA Headquarters, in a move aimed at positioning the African Church as a strategic partner in shaping the continent’s health future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anchored in the AEA Vision 2066 aspiration of “The Africa God Wants,” the AEA Health Commission will provide strategic leadership in health policy, advocacy, research, innovation, capacity development, partnership building, resource mobilization, crisis response and continental coordination. It will strengthen church-based health networks, support National Evangelical Alliances, promote community-centred healthcare, advance scientific excellence and champion ethical, compassionate and evidence-based health interventions grounded in biblical values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission will promote African ownership of Africa’s health future by strengthening indigenous leadership, investing in local institutional capacity, and facilitating sustainable funding mechanisms that reduce unnecessary intermediary structures and deepen accountability. Its work will be guided by the conviction that health is inseparable from human dignity, that healthy communities are essential to sustainable development, and that lasting transformation occurs when faith, science, leadership and community action work together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this new Commission, AEA envisions a future in which every National Evangelical Alliance becomes a credible health partner within its nation, and every local church becomes a centre for health education, prevention, compassion and community resilience. It further envisions a continent where every Christian healthcare professional can access a continental platform for service and collaboration, where governments recognize the Church as a strategic public-health partner, and where funders discover within the African Church a trusted, accountable and scalable implementation network. Ultimately, the vision extends to vulnerable people receiving dignified, ethical and compassionate care, and to Africa developing stronger indigenous systems for health leadership, research, financing and crisis response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AEA Health Commission seeks to become Africa’s foremost evangelical platform for faith, health and human development \u2014 a respected continental institution bringing together churches, governments, healthcare professionals, researchers, universities, philanthropists and development partners in pursuit of healthier people, stronger families, resilient communities and transformed nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AEA describes the initiative as more than a health program. It is a continental call to reimagine the role of the African Church in shaping the future of health, an invitation to unite faith with scientific excellence, compassion with innovation, and local action with continental collaboration. It is, ultimately, a commitment not merely to treat illness, but to restore hope, protect dignity, strengthen communities and enable every person to fulfil their God-given potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
