On the 8th of July 2022 the General Secretary of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA), Rev. Dr Master Matlhaope held consultative talks with the President of the Central African Republic, H.E.  Professor Faustin-Archange Touadera at the country’s State House. President Faustin acknowledged the excellent work AEA is engaged in promoting peace, empowering, uniting and advocating for the rights of the minority and the persecuted church.

On his part, Dr Master lauded President Faustin-Archange Touadera’s efforts in leading the country in making the Central African Republic a secure, united, peaceful and developing country.

Among the pertinent issues discussed was the need for regional collaboration against the proliferation of terror groups that often terrorize Christians. This regional collaboration would reduce the involvement of geopolitical powers which often subsequently bring difficulties to governments and their peoples. The His Excellency Professor Faustin-Archange Touadera also welcomed the forthcoming AEA Regional Consultative forum, which was recently held in October 2022. The forum was aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of religious extremism, focusing on peacebuilding among the communities and enhancing the unity of purpose among the member states, in Central Africa.
