Addis Ababa, April 2024
AEA recently convened its annual Executive Board and Governing Council meetings at the Mado Hotel in Addis Ababa on the 9th of April 2024The board meeting provided a platform for deliberations on AEA’s strategic direction, as well as assessment of the organization’s performance over the past year.
The Executive Board also reviewed associate membership applications and accepted the following organizations into the AEA family. These were; Serving Orphans Worldwide, Faith Driven Entrepreneur, Community Bible Study, Deo Volente, and the Africa Center for Apologetics and Research. The inclusion of these organizations is expected to enrich AEA’s collective mission and broaden its impact.
Two significant programs were launched during the meetings: the Peace and Reconciliation Network and the Christian Business Coalition. The Peace and Reconciliation Network aims to foster harmony and resolve conflicts across communities in Africa, while the Christian Business Coalition seeks to mobilize resources and wealth creation for the church and also network Christian business people at the continental level.
Looking ahead to 2024, AEA’s key priorities include strengthening National Alliances to ensure a cohesive and unified approach to our work across the continent, make strides to reduce the number of untrained pastors in Africa and refine the organization’s impact by focusing on measurable outcomes that align with the strategy plan.
Furthermore, AEA plans to forge partnerships with organizations dedicated to relief and crisis management in Africa. These collaborations are crucial for addressing humanitarian needs and responding effectively to emergencies. Lastly, AEA will continue to engage in programmatic declarations of the gospel throughout Africa, ensuring that the message of hope and salvation reaches diverse communities.
