“For such a time as this” – WEA Women’s Commission regional leaders’ consultation
NAIROBI, Kenya
Christian evangelical women leaders from different parts of the world have gathered for the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) Women’s Commission Regional Leaders’ Consultation in Nairobi, Kenya, from the 14th to 18th July 2024, under the theme “For such a time as this.” The event is hosted by the Executive Director of WEA Women’s Commission, Dr. Seblewengel Daniel and the Executive Director of the Pan African Christian Women Alliance (PACWA), Irene Kibagendi, who is also representing the evangelical women in Africa.
The Secretary General of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA), Dr. Master Matlhaope, gave the welcome speech and reminded these leaders of the great opportunities they have to bring about positive change through their wisdom and beauty, and how this can actually bring salvation to many, just like biblical Queen Esther.
“Our hopes as evangelicals in Africa and the world are with you as you’ll be here thinking, praying, planning,” Dr. Master added. He also reminded the ladies that they have many gifts that are unique to themselves to serve all humanity for the good of the world.
Furthermore, the leaders were urged to keep expanding the scope of their ministry beyond just women to the entire humanity. The AEA SG further welcomed them to Kenya and Africa in general, on behalf of all the evangelicals in Africa.
Dr. Matlhaope was accompanied by the General Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya and members of the AEA secretariat. This particular gathering is ongoing, and we pray for great results as the leaders of evangelical women all over the world.
