Lesotho Evangelical Alliance Embarks on Economic Empowerment with New Training Program

Lesotho Association of Churches Evangelical Movement, the national evangelical alliance of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) in the nation of Lesotho, is excited to announce the launch of an innovative training program for chicken incubators. This program is specifically designed for district leaders from various churches across the country. The initiative marks a significant milestone as the alliance’s first major project of the year and is being spearheaded by Peace Plan Lesotho, a dynamic project of the evangelical alliance dedicated to fostering community development and empowerment.

The announcement was delivered with great enthusiasm by the Secretary General of the association, Bishop Dr. John Maphephe. In his statement, Dr. Maphephe emphasized the importance of this initiative, expressing that the evangelical community in Lesotho is thrilled about the potential this training program holds for capacity building and empowering church members toward self-sustainability and economic independence.

As a key part of the national evangelical movement, Peace Plan Lesotho remains committed to promoting growth, development, and economic empowerment within the local communities it serves. “We believe this project will not only provide our district leaders with essential skills but will also make a significant contribution to the overall well-being and prosperity of our church members,” stated Dr. Maphephe. He further elaborated that the program aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and expertise necessary for establishing and managing successful chicken incubator projects.

Through this training, the church hopes to equip its leaders with the tools needed to create sustainable income-generating activities. This initiative is designed to foster entrepreneurial skills, create employment opportunities, and enhance food security within their respective communities. By promoting these projects, the church aims to address both the spiritual and material needs of its members, ensuring a more holistic approach to community transformation.

The Basotho evangelicals are eager to embark on this transformative journey and are optimistic about the positive impact the project will have. Not only is this program expected to uplift individual participants, but it is also anticipated to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the broader community. The training will help create a ripple effect, where the benefits extend beyond the immediate participants to touch the lives of many others in their local areas.

Dr. Maphephe also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the National Evangelical Fellowships of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) for their unwavering support and partnership. He noted that such collaborations are crucial for the successful implementation of initiatives that aim to bring about meaningful change.

In closing, Dr. Maphephe reiterated the church’s vision of mobilizing and empowering its members for the holistic transformation of communities and societies across Africa. He expressed the hope that this project would serve as a model for other regions and inspire further initiatives aimed at self-sufficiency and economic resilience. “May God bless and prosper our efforts as we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve,” he added.

This project represents a significant step forward in the alliance’s mission to build stronger, more self-reliant communities, embodying the spirit of unity, faith, and practical action. The Lesotho Association of Churches Evangelical Movement is committed to continuing its work toward the betterment of society and the spiritual upliftment of its members, trusting that these efforts will yield abundant blessings and transformative outcomes.
