AEA Stands with Displaced Christians in Northern Nigeria
AEA’s Head of Communications and Programs, Jim Olang, and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Melissa Mushamalirwa, recently visited Maiduguri in Northern Nigeria to support Christians displaced by rising jihadist activities. Many of these families have been living in camps for over two years with minimal aid.
In collaboration with Barnabas Aid and the Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship (NEF), AEA is implementing a comprehensive relief project providing food, hygiene supplies, and medical services to affected communities.
Upon arrival in Maiduguri, the team was received by the Nigeria National Alliance, including Secretary General Rev. James Akinyele and Advocacy Officer Ms. Ngozi Edmond. Together, they visited three Christian IDP camps in Borno state, spending meaningful time with beneficiaries and assessing their needs.

The relief project has been successfully completed in Yobe state and will continue in Adamawa state, extending hope and tangible support to more displaced families across the region.
Let us continue to lift in prayer our brothers and sisters across Africa, especially those living in precarious circumstances due to persecution, armed conflict, oppressive regimes, environmental disasters, and other hardships. May God grant them comfort, protection, and hope in their trials, and may we remain steadfast in solidarity and compassion for them.
