Le révérend et pasteur Botrus Mansour a été installé comme nouveau secrétaire général de l'Alliance évangélique mondiale.
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA (October 31, 2025)
The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has installed Rev. Adv. Botrus Mansour as its new Secretary General, ushering in a new chapter for the global network of evangelicals representing 161 nations. His installation, alongside the new International Council, concluded a week of global gatherings in Seoul that brought together evangelical leaders from around the world.
In his first address, Rev. Adv. Mansour reflected on the significance of his appointment as a Palestinian Christian from Israel. “At a time when our region has just seen a ceasefire after years of conflict, I see this as a moment of hope and responsibility,” he said. “I carry with me the prayers of my people and my homeland.”

The Seoul assembly drew more than 800 delegates from 124 countries and thousands of Korean pastors. It marked a milestone of renewed collaboration between the WEA and the Korean Church, highlighting Korea’s growing role as a bridge in global Christianity.
Rev. Adv. Mansour, long-time director of Nazareth Baptist School and leader within several Middle Eastern evangelical networks, emphasized unity, discipleship, and social witness as priorities for his term. His vision centers on strengthening alliances worldwide and advancing the shared goal of proclaiming the Gospel to all nations by 2033—the two-thousandth anniversary of Christ’s resurrection.
“Jesus prayed that His followers would be one,” Mansour said. “That unity remains our calling. When mercy and justice are lived out in every community, the Kingdom of God becomes visible.”

He succeeds Dr. Goodwill Shana, who served as Executive Chair during the transition period. Dr. Shana welcomed the appointment, calling Mansour “a capable and faithful leader ready for this moment.”
With leadership now renewed, the WEA reaffirmed its mission to defend religious freedom, equip the global Church, and strengthen evangelical collaboration across every continent.
