INAUGURAL FASAU 2063 CONSULTATION

April 16, 2024

The inaugural FASAU 2063 summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 11th and 12th April 2024, saw government officials, faith sector leaders, and representatives from the African Union (AU) converge at the Sheraton Addis Hotel to deliberate on a variety of issues affecting the African church. This landmark event marked a significant step in fostering collaboration between key stakeholders committed to the continent’s development and spiritual growth.

FASAU 2063 has been launched as a platform to create and sustain meaningful engagement between the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA), representing over 250 million evangelicals in Africa, African governments, and the African Union. This initiative aims to pursue the realization of Aspirations 3 and 4 of the AU’s Agenda 2063, which focus on an Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice, and the rule of law, as well as an Africa with a strong cultural identity, common heritage, shared values, and ethics.

During the summit, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on how to address pressing challenges such as poverty, inequality, and conflicts that hinder the continent’s progress. Workshops and panels provided a platform for sharing best practices, innovative solutions, and success stories from different regions. The collaborative atmosphere underscored the importance of unity and collective action in achieving the ambitious goals set forth by Agenda 2063.

We truly thank all the leaders who answered this noble call. Your participation and contributions were invaluable in shaping the discussions and outcomes of the summit. We look forward to further engagements on the journey towards a more peaceful and developed continent. The commitment demonstrated at this inaugural summit is a promising start, and we are optimistic that continued collaboration will lead to substantial progress in the coming years. Thank you for your dedication and support as we work together to realize a prosperous future for Africa.
