A PACWA capacita mulheres com ferramentas espirituais, sociais e econômicas para o desenvolvimento sustentável.
The Pan African Christian Women Alliance (PACWA) has expanded the reach and impact of the Empower Her initiative into Marsabit and Laikipia counties, following the successful launch of the initiative in Samburu County in late 2025.
The expansion was characterized by intense training sessions held in two primary training stages. The first phase took place in Korr, Marsabit County, from May 4th to 6th, 2026, drawing 50 women from Korr and surrounding areas like Laisamis, Ngurunit, and Marsabit. The second leg was conducted in Dol Dol, Laikipia County, from May 7th to 9th, 2026, bringing together 50 women from Dol Dol and neighboring communities. The total impact of the project reached 100 women from marginalized communities in Northern Kenya.
The intensive curriculum focused on holistic growth, covering key pillars essential for personal and community advancement. Under Spiritual Foundations & Discipleship, the focus was on helping women rediscover their value in Christ, their families, and the church. The Economic Empowerment & Capacity Building pillar covered financial literacy, savings mobilization, and context-relevant business skills, while the Leadership & Community Transformation pillar positioned women as agents of change within their wider communities.

O Empower Her initiative aims at equipping vulnerable young women with spiritual, social, and economic tools for sustainable development. By focusing on the unique challenges faced by pastoralist communities, the project creates pathways toward dignity, self-reliance, and long-term resilience.
To ensure the lessons translate into real-world impact, PACWA facilitated the creation of women’s support and accountability groups. These platforms will allow the participants to engage in peer learning, collaborate on income-generating activities, and build community savings.
Furthermore, to catalyze this transition from training to action, each of the 100 participants received seed funding to either launch new small-scale businesses or strengthen existing ones. This financial boost serves as a practical step toward improving household livelihoods and fostering lasting economic independence.
We thank the Lord for this great initiative and remain hopeful that the stories of many African women will continue to change, one project at a time. We pray that our continental women’s alliance will continue to transform our communities holistically by empowering the women across Africa.
