Mettez fin au terrorisme et unissez le Nigeria

Communiqué issued at the end of the 60th Anniversary of
Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship (NEF) held in Abuja on Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th November, 2025

The Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship (NEF), an alliance of Evangelical Churches and Mission Agencies in Nigeria, and a member of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) and the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), having convened her 60th Anniversary Strategic Church and Mission Leaders’ Summit from the 3rd to 6th of November, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria, reflected soberly on the painful reality of religious and ethnically motivated terrorism, violence, and recurring attacks on communities and citizens across various regions of our nation.

Arising from these reflections, the Fellowship urges the Federal Government of Nigeria to take urgent and decisive actions to address the growing threat of terror and insecurity in the country.

The Fellowship calls on the Federal Government of Nigeria, as a matter of national urgency, to:

  1. Prioritize national security and stability by ensuring the arrest, prosecution, and disarmament of all terrorist groups, bandits, and violent militias operating within Nigerian communities.
  2. Strengthen collaborative efforts among security agencies, communities, and international partners to effectively combat terrorism and other security challenges.
  3. Protect vulnerable communities and ensure the safe return and rehabilitation of all displaced persons to their ancestral homes.
  4. Promote religious freedom and tolerance among all citizens to foster peaceful coexistence and national harmony.
  5. Address socio-economic and environmental challenges ravaging different parts of the nation, as these often contribute to insecurity and social unrest.

Finally, the Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship (NEF) reaffirms its commitment to unity, peace, justice, progress, and prosperity for all Nigerians. The Fellowship remains steadfast in speaking with one voice for truth, righteousness, and national reconciliation.
