Monthly Scope-August 2017

August 2017 marked severe floods around the world, washing through cities and villages, sweeping away homes and leaving a deadly toll. Freetown, Benue, Houston, and parts South East Asia have been inundated by record high flooding and storms over this past month.

Thousands have lost their lives with millions affected by the storms. Fears of Hurricane Irma, one of the strongest recorded storms (Category 5) in recent years, continue to rise with parts of the Caribbean and Florida considered ‘high risk’.

The Association of Evangelicals in Africa commiserates with families affected by the flooding and devastation caused by the disasters.  God remains sovereign and we continue to offer our praise to Him for all the lives and homes saved during these disasters.
