Levanta-te, África: Um Chamado à Oração pela Igreja Perseguida
In line with Arise Africa Month of Prayer by our partner Em chamas, we would like to engage all members, partners and friends of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) in a month of prayer for the persecuted church as the year comes to a close. We warmly invite all members, partners, churches, and friends across the continent and beyond to unite with us in this dedicated season of intercession.
Across sub-Saharan Africa, millions of Christians continue to suffer the heartbreaking effects of violence, conflict, and religious persecution. Entire communities have been uprooted, with countless families forced to flee their homes because of their faith in Jesus Christ. This crisis has resulted in severe food shortages, widespread trauma, and deep emotional and spiritual distress.
The African church, however, is not silent. Believers across the region are rising in bold and steadfast prayer, calling upon their global church family to join them in seeking God’s intervention. Together, we desire to see His peace established, His healing released, and His people sustained in the midst of turmoil.
Current estimates indicate that out of the 345 million Christians worldwide who face persecution, nearly 40 million are in sub-Saharan Africa alone. These numbers remind us of the urgency and the magnitude of the need before us.
This month of December, we invite you to stand with our displaced brothers and sisters. Let us lift them before the Lord, praying for His provision, protection, healing, and comfort. May God restore hope where it has been lost, strengthen the weary, and surround each one with His unfailing presence.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” – Isaiah 60:1
Join us in prayer. Join us in hope. Join us in standing with the African church.
