Why attend the AEA General Assembly virtually?

Greetings in the name of Christ!

This year, the leadership of AEA is proposing a hybrid (mostly online and limited in-person) meeting in Nairobi from 28-30 April 2021. We encourage five representatives from each National Alliance and two representatives from Associate member organizations to participate virtually along with other individuals as appropriate. We would require all the NEF’s and Associate members submit names and contacts of these representatives by the 4th of March 2021.

Online attenders – you don’t have to pack your clothes, apply for a visa, or pay for travel. With some of the time and money you have saved, you can prepare well for the General Assembly!

Preparing for online attendance

  • Plan whether you will attend from home, or with other members of your church or organization. A quiet location with comfortable seating is best.
  • Find wifi access or buy data bundles. Charge your computer and get a backup power source if possible.
  • Use this link to test your computer on zoom, the online platform we will be using. Test your headphones, speaker, or camera to see if your sound and video work.
  • Plan for how you will take your meals during the conference. We will send a schedule with breaks so that you can enjoy as much of the session as possible.

For some time, we have been talking about the importance of the church adopting new technology. Now we have the opportunity to learn something that can keep up relevant in our changing times.

We look forward to seeing you 28-30 April 2021.
